About Sol

Some of the best things start over a shared meal.

In May 2026, Audrey sat down with her friend Jenni and asked, "what if we start a cafe?"

What followed was hours of conversation about food, wellness, their community, and what it would look like to build something they both genuinely believed in. They left with a shared vision for a place that had never quite existed in Charleston before.

That conversation became Sol Charleston.

Meet Audrey

Audrey is a Registered Dietitian who came to this work through her own health transformation. She grew up struggling with her weight, feeling at war with her body and out of control around food. Everything changed when she started seeing a dietitian herself and joined her high school rowing team, the first time she ever felt like a partner with her body instead of an opponent. She learned what it felt like to be strong, to fuel herself with intention, and to feel genuinely proud of who she was becoming.

That experience never left her. She went on to complete her dietetic internship at MUSC, spent years working in school nutrition, nutrition counseling, and business, and along the way learned that the real work happens in the relationship, in listening, in gentle accountability, and in showing up as a true partner on someone’s health journey.

Audrey's approach is grounded in behavior-change science. She trained in the Body Project, a group program built around improving body image, and that framework still shapes how she thinks about the relationship between how people feel about their bodies and how they eat.. She brings all of it to Sol Charleston, the science, the empathy, and the lived experience of knowing exactly what it feels like to be on the other side of this work.

Meet Jenni

Jenni's path to Sol started with a public health class in college that changed everything for her. Learning about the connection between what we eat, how we feel, and how our communities thrive lit something in her that never went out. She went vegan, deepened her passion for whole ingredient food, and built a career doing what she loves most, feeding people and watching their faces light up.

That moment, when someone takes a bite and realizes the food is safe for their allergy, their dietary restriction, their way of eating, is Jenni's favorite thing in the world. She brings that joy and that care to every single thing she makes.

Jenni is Puerto Rican and brings her heritage into Sol's warmth, color, and spirit. Sol, Spanish for sun, is in part a nod to her family history and what she believes food can be: something that brings people together, nourishes them fully, and makes them feel at home.

She is co-owner of Sol, and has spent years perfecting whole-ingredient, vegan, and gluten free recipes that taste like nothing is missing, because nothing is.

Why Sol Charleston

Charleston has incredible food. It has wellness studios and coffee shops and beautiful spaces. But we kept noticing something missing, a place where all of it lives together. Where you can get a smoothie and learn something about your body. Where a college student, a new mom, and a kid taking their first cooking class can all feel like they belong.

Sol Charleston exists to provide delicious, plant-forward food, health and body education, and real human connection, in a city we love, for a community we believe in.

We built Sol because we needed it ourselves, and we think you might too.
